24/25 Welcome to Holland Intermediate: Principal's message
Hello Holland Families! My name is Andy Evans and this my 3rd year of principal at Holland Intermediate, and I served as one year of principal at Holland Elementary. I’m excited to announce that Angela Enderlen will serve as my assistant principal, and she enters the role with 11 years of educational experience. Mrs. Enderlen was previously 5th grade at Dorr Elementary and Holland Intermediate. We are both excited for the beginning of the school with the first day on August 22. The Jumpstart will take place August 16th, 19th, 20th, and 21st. By now, parents/guardians should have received an email to schedule students for their Jumpstart appointment. Our theme this year is G.A.M.E.S (Goal and Motivation Equals Success) and each team has a name to reflect the theme. Holland Intermediate offers 4 specials this year, but the names of the classes are a little different. Art and STEAM have been specifically designed to enhance the students’ learning experiences.
Art and Design will be taught by Kelly Nottingham and Coding and Design will be taught by Samantha Bell. A more detailed letter can be found on the school’s webpage. New Structure Specials, Family Letter. Here are a couple important dates coming up for the beginning of the school year: August 27- Holland Parent Council Meeting- 6:30 in Holland Cafeteria August 30- Holland Parent Council “Back to School Bash” 6:00-8:00September 4- Picture Day Communication is sent out to each families every Sunday via email and social media. Dear Parents and Students,
We hope you enjoyed a wonderful summer filled with relaxation and fun. As we prepare for an exciting new school year at Holland Intermediate School, serving our fifth and sixth grade students, we want to share some important information to ensure everyone is ready for the year ahead.
School Hours: The school day at Holland Intermediate begins promptly at 7:30 a.m., and students will be dismissed at 2:15 p.m. We encourage all students to arrive on time and come ready to learn.
Expanded Menu Offerings: We are pleased to announce that Chartwells is assisting our district by expanding our menu offerings. Students have expressed great satisfaction with the new meal options, and we believe that providing nutritious and enjoyable meals is essential for their success and well-being.
Recess and Playworks Curriculum: We are thrilled to bring back recess, and we will be implementing the Playworks curriculum this year. This program introduces new ways for students to engage in their favorite recess games and activities, promoting teamwork, physical activity, and social skills. It promises to be a lot of fun!
Dedicated Learning Time: This year, students will have an entire 90 minutes each day dedicated to learning Science and Social Studies. This extended learning time will allow for deeper exploration and understanding of these vital subjects, helping to foster critical thinking and a genuine love of learning.
